It’s always our ambition to bring the very best national and international companies to the city. In terms of unique artistry and technological innovation, we think 1927 are up there with the best of them.
Founded in 2005 by Director, Writer & Performer Suzanne Andrade and Animator & Illustrator Paul Barritt, 1927 is a multi-award winning company based in Margate & London that specialise in combining performance and live music with animation to create magical filmic performance.
From the dystopian fable Golem to the wickedly twisted The Animals and Children Took to the Streets, their work is startlingly original and generates an incredible atmosphere. To watch a 1927 show is to get lost in a rich, bizarre, funny world conjured through stylised performances, animation, live music and song.
Not easily comparable to any other stage show, their work is truly unique.
