Culture Liverpool
We are proudly supported by the Liverpool City Council through Culture Liverpool and their funding support is used strategically to meet the objectives of the City Plan in the following ways:
• supporting artists at every stage of their career through our diverse, innovative and high-quality artistic programme
• providing opportunities for a diverse range of 14–25-year-olds with the greatest social need to develop skills, build confidence and improve their employability prospects through our YEP programme
• commissioning and developing stories that matter to Liverpool and resonate with our audiences
• partnering with a diverse, inclusive range of associate companies and producers to expand our national and international reach and impact through high-quality co-productions, digital content and touring our work as a leading cultural organisation in our region
• working with schools, community centres and groups, selection based on their social need, enabling them to thrive through self-expression and culture
• partnering with cultural organisations throughout the Region to ensure gaps in cultural provision (especially for young people) are proactively addressed
• championing positive social change and inclusion throughout Liverpool, ensuring that our spaces are inclusive and that our governance and workforce are representative of the communities we serve
• playing a leading role in developing the region's theatre ecology, supporting freelancers and driving forward the Liverpool Theatre Network in response to the Liverpool Theatres Review
• playing an integral part in the mid-scale touring network of theatres across England, bringing high-quality, innovative work to Liverpool
• working with cultural organisations throughout England to progress key agendas including equity, diversity, inclusion, environmental sustainability and sustainable cultural models
We are at an exciting moment in LMTT’s history with Suba Das as our Creative Director, an ambitious programme and a resilient operating and financial model in place.
We are acutely aware that the next few years will be pivotal in Liverpool’s continuing recovery from the Covid pandemic and the crucial role to be played by cultural institutions in this recovery.
At the heart of our strategy are the key tenets of our vision: Artistic Innovation; Talent Development and Social Change. We are deeply committed to supporting new work and ensuring we are truly representative of the communities we serve.
