YEP Writers
...Craft vibrant new stories
Recruitment for YEP Writers will begin in Autumn 2025.
If you're aged 18-25 with an interest in creative writing, this group meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5-7pm.
Sessions give you the opportunity to explore genres, styles of writing and key techniques, guided by our team of professional artists. It's a great way to try something new and courageous, giving you the confidence to begin or develop your writing for theatre.
It is free!
YEP Writers sessions will include the following:
• Developing skills in writing techniques.
• The process of theatre making.
• Developing confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Increasing aspiration.
• Writing a short piece for theatre and receiving feedback.
• Submit a monologue/duologue to be performed by professional actors at the YEP Writers Showcase.
• Exploring creative opportunities.
• Taking part in masterclasses.
• Mentoring.
• Going on trips and seeing theatre.
• Meeting other young people and networking to build your own community and connections.
• Engagement with the creative process of at least one professional production.
The group size is up to 10 people.
YEP Writers will showcase their writing in the YEP Writers Showcase. You'll be supported to write a 10-minute monologue or duologue, with the opportunity to see it take to the stage, directed by emerging directors and with a company of professional actors.
