Chair is the third play in Edward Bond's The Chair Plays trilogy. When Billy was abandoned as a baby, Alice took him into her home illegally. One day she offers a passing soldier, who’s escorting an elderly prisoner, a chair to sit on. This small gesture of good will has unexpected consequences and changes Alice and Billy's lives forever.
