China Peaks
A performance project involving Chinese and British young people
China Peaks is choreographed by Mrs Li (Pagoda Arts) and Joel Miller. Inspired by the fusion of Chinese opera, martial arts and contemporary dance and fashion through the Chinese dynasties to modern day.
Journey from Chinese dynasties to modern China with the vibrant colours and spectacle of costume, music and dance. From traditional Chinese opera to urban and hip hop, meet the characters and experience Chinese fashion and dancing with glimpses of Qin and Han, Tang’s Princess, Song’s Baogong, Ming’s bride and groom and Qings fashion qibao.
Performed with Chinese handcrafted costumes to music commissioned by Culture Liverpool for last year's amazing Chinese New Year Lumiere.
