Developing strong links with neighbouring school and community groups to tell new stories

When Liverpool author Brian Patten’s The Story Giant was reimagined for the stage and performed by the Everyman REP Company in 2017, The Giant Story Book project allowed us to work closely with a small number of local schools and community groups.
Thinking about stories that have not yet been told, the school and community groups worked with visual artist Alice Smith in the weeks leading up to the production. They each created a double page spread in a giant wooden book that was displayed in the Everyman theatre bar during the run.
