Spoken word night A Lovely Word is relocating outdoors for a one off special event at St James’ Gardens, Thursday 1 July, 7.30pm.
The team at monthly spoken word night A Lovely Word have teamed up with the Unusual Art Sourcing Company to bring socially-distanced spoken word performances outdoors this Summer.
Featuring headliner Curtis Watt; A poet, author, musician, actor, presenter, and creative workshop leader, who is featured in Michael Rosen’s A-Z the Best Children’s Poems (Puffin). He has worked internationally on both stage and screen, and is recognised as one of Liverpool’s most versatile artists, voted 43 in Diverse Magazine’s Top 50 Black Merseysiders. He worked with NML on the development of poetry for the International Slavery Museum and is proud to have lyrics quoted on the Freedom Wall.
Featured poets alongside open mic-ers will perform live in St James Gardens with audiences invited to watch out in the open air. The open-air event is free to attend and seating is ‘bring your own blankets/seats’ with stewards assisting with allocating spots.
Poets and performers are invited to sign up to perform at the open mic by emailing [email protected] (submissions close 25 June), with a confirmation of your full name, mobile number, and that you sign up to these principles of the open mic.
