Art in the Ev
Artist in residence
Collaborating with dot-art we bring together theatre and visual art by embedding practising local artists within the theatre’s spaces, animating public areas and creating a body of work for exhibition.
Working on site at the theatres for a minimum of half a day per week for 6 months, the Artist in Residence is introduced to all the people, spaces and activity within the theatre, with access to rehearsals and production areas behind the scenes. The residency results in finished art works to be exhibited in the public areas of the Everyman.
Our 2023/2024 Artist in Residence is Ali Barker, starting in September 2023 for six months, with her work focusing on the architecture of the Everyman & Playhouse.
Our inaugural dot-art Artist in Residence partnership was in 2022/2023 with artists Alex Corina, Laleh Kamalian, Tommy Graham and Kirsten Todd. Read the full story of our 2022/2023 partnership with dot-art.
