Queer Bodies are a poetry collective, run by Day Mattar and Brendan Curtis, who offer writing residencies to members of the LGBTQI+ community based in the North West. They are based in Liverpool, running for 2 years. In this time, they have run two digital writing residencies; Queer Bodies (2020) and Queer Icons (2021), supported by ACE, Homotopia, Metal, WoWFEST and DaDaFest. These residencies formed of a 12-week workshop course, featuring guest artists such as Joelle Taylor, Peter Scalpello, Sean Hewitt, and Roger Hill, a 3-day development residency at Bidston Observatory, showcase performances at venues such as Future Yard and District, with the creation of a Zine including work produced at the end of the course. For Queer Icons 2020, the Zine is being published by Broken Sleep Books publishing house, which is set for release in July 2022.
