A Lovely Poetry Festival presents... A Lovely Poetry Slam

New Poetry Festival announced Friends, Poets, Scousers – Lend us your ears, and get yourselves down to the Liverpool Everyman for A Lovely Word’s first ever Festival Poetry SLAM!  

 Hosted by local legend Allan Tyson, this event will feature selected poets from across the Liverpool City Region in a Grand Slam Spoken Word Championship – with a winner takes all cash prize!  
 
Join us and our judging panel of esteemed Poetry connoisseurs; Auntie Climax (Queer Bodies Poetry Collective), Amina Atiq (A Lovely Word Resident Artist) & 'special guest' and our select poets for a night of variety, competition and celebration! 

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Midnight 20th May
 
Submission Criteria:  
To submit your poem for the Grand Slam, please take note of the following criteria: 
•    Applicants must be over 16 years old 
•    Any submissions should not have previously won any accolades or Poetry Slams 
•    Applicants should submit ONE poem, only 
•    If successful, applicants need not perform the same poem that they submitted for selection but they can do so if they wish 
•    The length of the poem submitted should not exceed 3 pages of A4. 
•    Applicants should not have received any external editing or dramaturgy on the submitted poem 
•    We encourage applications from all backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, genders and identities. Spoken Word is for everyone!

•    Any submissions not sent through the form will be discounted.
