Our Staff & Buildings

While our doors remain closed due to government guidance, we have reduced our working staff team through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. As yet we don’t know when we can return, so for now we are taking care the best we can of our staff and buildings.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is a lifeline for theatres across the UK as without shows on our stages and little ability to earn income we need as much support as possible. The staff who remain working do so from home with the exception of some essential finance and maintenance needs. Our staff who have been furloughed through the CJR scheme are putting their time and skills to great use, volunteering and making face masks and scrubs.

Playhouse ghost light

In our buildings the ghost lights are on (a theatre tradition you can read more about here) and the bees continue to buzz on the Everyman roof. Our Facilities team are reduced but they are in our buildings regularly, cleaning, keeping up with on-going repairs and maintenance so we can welcome you back when safe and responsible to do so.
