Sharing our Panto with Alder Hey
Wednesday 22 December 2021
This Christmas we have the pleasure of sharing a digital version of our Rock 'n' Roll Panto with the staff and patients of Alder Hey hospital.
Filming took place during one of our Panto performances last week, and our Digital Producer, Peter Greggs, has used this recording to create a digital version of the show which we have been able to send to the childeren's hospital.
Staff, patients and their families will be able to watch the show anytime in the run up-to Christmas. Peter said: "We’re beyond thrilled to partner up with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital again to share a little bit of joy to their in-patients and families this Christmas. An important part of our digital remit at the theatres is to share our work with those who can’t visit us in-person, and this partnership with Alder Hey is a shining exemplar of how embracing digital in theatre can help us achieve that."
Peter has been working alongside Alder Hey to deliver the show to those in the hospital over Christmas. Vicky Charnock, Arts Coordinator at Alder Hey, said:
"Once again, we are delighted that the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres have generously enabled our children and young people in the hospital to have an exclusive screening of their Christmas Rock ‘n’ Roll panto, Robin Hood. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children and young people, who are unable to visit the theatre, to see the production and to experience the magic of Christmas from their hospital bedside. The challenges faced by our children are profound, particularly at Christmas, and we hope that this production will bring smiles and laughter to them and their families. Our collaboration with the Everyman and Playhouse reflects a special partnership between the two organisations and we are proud to be working with them once again this year."
We're really pleased to be able to share the 'best panto in the land, nay universe' with Alder Hey, and hope that they enjoy the show!
