The Everyman Rock 'n' Roll Panto 2020 title announced
To celebrating our best Christmas ever we are announcing next year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto title!
With the continued success of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto at the Everyman, the Playhouse production of Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical hugely contributed to the success of the Christmas, breaking the million pound barrier on ticket sales across the two theatres.
To say thank you to audiences, the theatres are excited to announce the Everyman Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto title for Christmas 2020 is… ROBIN HOOD!
Regular writers Sarah A Nixon and Mark Chatterton return to put their own marvellously mischievous spin on the classic tale of heroism, social justice and… tights!
The announcement follows a hugely successful season at the theatres, with over 86% of seats sold. Across both theatres there was a 20% increase in new bookers over the festive period. Nearly 20,000 of audience members were from either families, community groups or young people.
Fiona Gibson, interim chief executive at the Everyman & Playhouse, said:
“We are thrilled to be toasting a very special Christmas period for both our theatres in 2019. At the Everyman, our famous Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto went down a storm, and we’re delighted so many of you also joined us at the Playhouse for our festive feel-good musical Miracle on 34th Street.
“A huge thank you to all who came along to both shows, and to everyone who joined us throughout 2019. We really appreciate your amazing support every day, and look forward to welcoming you back through our doors for an exciting spring 2020 season.”
The 2020 Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto will include an autism friendly/relaxed performance for 2020. There will also be a range of other performances for audience members with access needs including British Sign Language, captioned and audio described performances during the run.
Tickets are set to go on sale to priority bookers on Monday 17 February, with general sale opening on Tuesday 25 February. For more information visit www.everymanplayhouse.com and sign up to the Everyman & Playhouse newsletter to receive the latest theatre updates.
