Third Round of Cultural Recovery Fund Awarded
We are very grateful to be receiving a further grant of £283,599 from Arts Council England’s Cultural Recovery Fund, following a 3rd successful application.
Funds will allow both of our theatres to confidently deliver Christmas productions, without facing financial risk if they are impacted by COVID19.
Our Chief Executive, Mark Da Vanzo, said:
“We’ve been so thankful to DCMS for the support they’ve given the sector over the past 18 months. It’s allowed us to safely re-open, create new digital opportunities, provide employment for freelancers and to continue our economic contribution to the Liverpool City Region’s recovery. We can now go confidently ahead into our festive season, with the financial security this new award provides and look forward to welcoming audiences back to both our theatres.”
We are among 925 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the Culture Recovery Fund, with more than £100 million being awarded to hundreds of cultural organisations across the country. The third round of funding will support organisations from all corners of the sector as they deal with ongoing reopening challenges, ensuring they can thrive in better times ahead.
Darren Henley, Chief Executive, Arts Council England, said:
“This continued investment from the Government on an unprecedented scale means our theatres, galleries, music venues, museums and arts centres can carry on playing their part in bringing visitors back to our high streets, helping to drive economic growth, boosting community pride and promoting good health. It’s a massive vote of confidence in the role our cultural organisations play in helping us all to lead happier lives”.
The Cultural Recovery Fund forms part of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s #HereForCulture campaign to protect jobs, restart performances and create work for freelancers. For more information on the Government support provided, visit Art Council England’s Covid-19 support page.
