On Tuesday 9 November, our theatres won Liverpool City Region’s Entertainment Venue of the Year 2020 at a glittering virtual awards ceremony.

In a category containing Liverpool Empire, Mersey Ferries and Unity Theatre, who all would have been more than worthy winners, judges praised our theatres and staff for excelling in the customer’s journey,  and for innovation, creativity and a passion “in bucket loads” across all areas.

Upon receiving the award from sponsor Hotel Indigo’s general manager Ben Morcombe, artistic director Gemma Bodinetz, said: “I was looking around the screen thinking ‘it won’t be us, look at these fantastic people!’ So I really am surprised and terribly delighted!”

We would like to thank Liverpool City Region Growth Platform and everyone involved for hosting such a fantastic event. A huge congratulations to all the other winners and nominees who are proof of Liverpool’s vibrant tourism industry.
