A Lovely Word featuring Harry Baker
Thu 7 Mar 2024
AT 8PM, DOWNSTAIRS AT THE EVERYMAN
FREE
A Lovely Word, downstairs at the Everyman, is Liverpool’s most eclectic poetry night.
It features two halves of open mic poets, and a headliner beginning the first half. Hosted by Alex Ferguson and team, this free event is a fun, relaxed and friendly evening of performance poetry.
HEADLINER
After a sellout Edinburgh Fringe Run and subsequent 40-date UK Tour, World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker is making like Theseus and taking on a mini-tour before his 26-30 railcard runs out. Returning to some of his favourite places with a mix of old faves and new bangers, the maths-loving, TED-talking, German-speaking, battle-rapping, happy-crying, self-bio-writing unashamed human brings his signature playfulness and poignancy that has made him a fan favourite and reached millions of people all over the world.
“Harry Baker’s intricate, quick-fire rhymes have always been on the impressive side of mind-blowing” - The Scotsman
“Spectacularly Witty” ***** (Whatsonstage)
“Blistering wordplay” ***** (Threeweeks)
“Not one syllable out of place” ***** (The Wee Review)
“The Spell Over The Audience Is Tangible” ***** (Broadway Baby)
“Simply put... The greatest performer on earth” ***** (BBC Radio 1)
