Mellowtone presents... Dorothy Bird, Blue Saint + DJ Jonnie O'Hare

Liverpool’s Mellowtone Records present an intimate night of music downstairs at the Everyman featuring talent from across the North West and supported by Mellowtone’s resident DJ Jonnie O'Hare.

Dorothy Bird is a singer-songwriter based between Liverpool and Berlin. With ringing endorsements from BBC Introducing, Tom Robinson's Fresh On The Net and BBC6music Mixtape, Mersey Radio and a plethora of tastemaking magazines both in England and her native Germany, Dorothy Bird's music has been described as "It is certainly also both epic and cinematic. On the night Dorothy, performing on piano & synths, will be joined on stage by Jon Lawton on guitar and Ryan Mallows on drums.

Blue Saint 

Daniel Sebuyange, known professionally as Blue Saint, is a Congolese and British rapper, singer-songwriter, spoken word poet, actor, producer and designer. Over his music career he has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a range of influences and genres, often combining and blending elements of hip-hop, RnB and electronic music. Blue Saint’s music lyrically incorporates a range of political, social, philosophical and cultural references with themes usually centred around social injustices. His projects tend to be conceptual in nature.

DJ Jonnie O'Hare

A collector and music obsessive for decades, early on Jonnie listened to Soul, Disco, Rock & Electronic Dance, going on to generate an interest in discovering the roots of this music. Working in a number of roles within the music industry - including clubnights such as Chibuku, Circus & Mellowtone, and as a founding member of collectives Musica del Alma and Beaten Tracks - led Jonnie to playing numerous festivals, radio shows and galleries, and also gaining residencies at various club nights and bars. Continuing to explore his discoveries, Jonnie has developed a style which blends genres from Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk & Soul to various forms of Roots and Dance music.
