Over the past year, a group of young poets, screenwriters, essayists and artists have come together to read, watch, analyse and disagree about plays - and now the time has come for them to write one!
This incisive and hilarious group of emerging playwrights will be showcasing ten-minute scenes or short plays, putting all they've learned into practice to create a constellation of pieces that are sure to entertain, move and inspire.
Every classic play was once a new play, and every great writer learned their craft one audience at a time - and the YEP Writers Showcase is part of that process. The experience of their work meeting an audience is one of the most vital parts of a playwright's learning, so we hope you'll come along and play your part in nurturing and galvanising Liverpool's playwrights of tomorrow.
