As part of the Black Joy season, Talawa and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse are offering seed commissions for two writers of African or Caribbean heritage to develop a new play, showcase work and build networks with the creative community in Liverpool.

The application process

Application is via an online form, submitted either in writing or via video or audio file.

We will ask you to tell us about:
you as an artist
your idea
- how you want this opportunity to support your artistic development

We’ll also ask you to submit a sample of your writing that you feel best represents you. It doesn’t have to be a play (you might previously have written for screen, for example), but we’ll be assessing applications with their suitability for stage in mind.
