GREAT MINDS THINK is an exhibition of paintings from artists Daniel Meakin and Fai McCabe who are from Manchester and Liverpool.

Daniel’s work

Ever since he executed his first painting when his school days era was coming to an end, and until the present day he has been inspired and intrigued by his urban surroundings, whether they be in his home city of Manchester or further afield like London, Barcelona or Miami. He’s always on the look-out for visuals such as architectural features, composition, and general urban tapestry.

He has been a fine art painter for more than 35 years, selling his paintings internationally since the age of 15 – so it’s safe to say that his art-making and personal life are intertwined.

“Daniel’s paintings are exceptionally multi-coloured, overjoyed, and stimulating – waking us from our unaware slumber. Not only are his paintings fused with academic fundamentals of art, like form, colour, and texture, but also screech the maximalist style in a fashionable sensibility. There is no dearth of concepts, meaningful identities, and multifarious objects. Instead, each painting is a disclosure of a new tale and experiences.”

To date his paintings are held in private collections across the globe.

Fai’s Work

Fai is a multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Liverpool, UK. Hy work centres on the Rubik’s Cube—a symbol of creativity, challenge, and nostalgia. Through the manual manipulation of hundreds of Rubik’s cubes, she creates intricate, vibrant designs.

Her work embraces the optical illusions and pareidolia inherent in the cube’s structure, crafting immersive experiences that invite viewers to engage with shifting perspectives and hidden patterns.

Each piece involves thousands of calculated algorithms, where geometric complexity and bold colour form the foundation of her practice. By intertwining nostalgia with contemporary expression, she creates a dialogue that encourages personal reflection, inviting viewers to reconnect with their own memories of exploration, creativity, and the cube itself.
