Jodie Comer is a British actress best known for her role as “Villanelle” in the BBC America cult breakout series, “Killing Eve.” Comer won both the Emmy Award for “Lead Actress in a Drama Series” and BAFTA Award for “Best Leading Actress” in 2019. She was nominated again for an Emmy Award, BAFTA Award and Critics Choice Award, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award throughout the duration of the show’s run.

Comer made her Broadway stage debut at the John Golden Theatre as well as her West End stage debut at the Harold Pinter Theatre in Suzie Miller’s “Prima Facie.” The play opened to rave reviews both on Broadway and on the West End, and it also became the highest-grossing event that released in cinemas during its broadcast release as part of the National Theatre Live series in the UK. Comer’s performance garnered her the 2023 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, as well as the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Play. Comer also won the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World award for her performance. She was also nominated for a Drama League Award.

Previously, Comer starred in the British television drama film, “Help,” opposite Stephen Graham. “Help” premiered on Channel 4 in the UK and marked Comer’s first time as an Executive Producer. Comer subsequently went on to win a BAFTA Award in the category of “Leading Actress.” “Help” also won the BAFTA Award in the category of “Single Drama.”

Comer’s additional television credits include: “Thirteen” (BAFTA Award and RTS Programme Award Nominations), “Talking Heads”, “Doctor Foster”, “The White Princess”, “Rillington Place”, “Lady Chatterley’s Lover”, “My Mad Fat Diary” and “Remember Me”.

In 2021, Comer starred in Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel” alongside Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Adam Driver. The film made its world premiere at the 78th Annual Venice International Film Festival. Comer also starred in the Shawn Levy directed action-comedy, “Free Guy,” alongside Ryan Reynolds and Joe Kerry. The latter of which was Comer’s feature film debut and crossed the $300 million mark in the global box office.

Last year, Comer starred in “The End We Start From,” a thriller from Benedict Cumberbatch’s SunnyMarch, Hera Pictures, Anton and BBC Film. Based on the novel by Megan Hunter, the film tells a hopeful story about the trails and joys of new motherhood in the midst of devasting floods that swallow up the city of London.

Following this, she starred in Jeff Nichols’ drama, “The Bikeriders,” alongside Tom Hardy and Austin Butler. Set in the 1960s, the film follows a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club based off the photo-book of the same title by Danny Lyon.

Comer will next be seen in Danny Boyle’s latest instalment in the “28 Years Later” trilogy, alongside Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Jack O’Connell.

Following this she will star in Kenneth Branagh’s, “The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde”.

She is currently filming “The Death of Robin Hood” opposite Hugh Jackman and directed by Michael Sarnoski.

Justin Martin is a multi-award-winning director working in theatre, film and television. Most recently he co-directed the Olivier Award winning and critically acclaimed Stranger Things: The First Shadow with Stephen Daldry, currently running at the Phoenix Theatre, which will be going to Broadway in 2025. In 2022/2023 he directed Jodie Comer in her Broadway and West End stage debut Prima Facie by Suzie Miller. The sold-out, award-winning production received rave reviews and 23 awards including the Olivier Award for Best New Play. The NT Live of the production smashed box office records becoming the highest grossing event cinema release of all time. In 2021 Justin co-directed the BAFTA Award-winning film Together starring James McAvoy and Sharon Horgan. More recently he directed all six episodes of David Ireland’s hit series The Lovers for Sky Atlantic, Sundance and AMC starring Johnny Flynn and Roisin Gallagher. His award-winning production of The Jungle (co-directed with Daldry) played a sell-out return season in New York and Washington DC, following seasons in San Francisco, New York, the West End and at the Young Vic.
