“Still does a bit me dad. Not often. Does discos and that and singing when he can. Hard for him. You know…’showbiz.”
Kelisha’s dad was Top of the Pops. The Electric Hills. One hit wonder. 80s floor filler. Now he’s over the hill, sleeping all day and running dead discos at night.
But when his girls just wanna have careers and a former band member crashes in, the past reveals a tainted love and what happens when the Rock and Roll Dreams don’t come through.
First performed as part of the Everyword festival, The Electric Hills is the world première of a new Liverpool play by Michael McLean, a graduate of the Everyman and Playhouse Young Writers Programme and Henry Cotton Writers on Attachment Scheme. An offbeat comedy drama about ambition, family and keeping the dream alive.
