We want everyone to enjoy the best possible experience when visiting the Everyman and Playhouse theatres. That's why we've introduced Auri, an assistive listening system powered by Auracast™ technology, helping audiences hear performances more clearly and comfortably.

Assistive listening with Auri

What is Auri?
Auri is a wireless assistive listening system that delivers clear, high-quality sound directly to the listener.

Using Auracast broadcast audio technology, Auri can stream the performance audio straight to:
• Compatible hearing aids
• Cochlear implants
• Auracast-enabled headphones or earbuds
• Auri receivers provided by us

Who is Auri for?
Auri can benefit:
• People who are deaf or have hearing loss
• Hearing aid and cochlear implant users
• Anyone who finds it difficult to hear clearly in busy environments
• Neurodivergent audience members who may benefit from reducing background noise and focusing on the performance audio

Using Auri at the Theatre
If you have your own Auracast-enabled hearing aid, headphones or earbuds, you can connect directly to the theatre’s audio broadcast.
If you don’t have a compatible device, you can borrow an Auri receiver from our Audience Experience team before the performance.
Receivers can be used with headphones or an induction loop neckband.

How do I request an Auri receiver?
Speak to a member of our Audience Experience team when you arrive, or let us know about your access requirements when booking.
We recommend arriving a little earlier before the performance starts so our team can help you get set up.

Need help?
If you’d like to find out more about Auri or discuss your access requirements before your visit, please contact our Box Office team via email on boxoffice@everymanplayhouse.com or by phone on 0151 709 4776.
We’re committed to making our theatres welcoming and accessible for everyone

Audio Description with Auri

How does Auri work for audio described performances?
At selected audio described performances, Auri uses Auracast™ technology to stream the audio description directly to your listening device or an Auri receiver. This allows you to hear the description clearly alongside the performance audio. Auri can support different audio channels, enabling audiences to select the audio description stream where available

Do I need my own device?
No. If you do not have your own compatible Auracast-enabled hearing aids, headphones or earbuds, you can borrow an Auri receiver from our Audience Experience team before the performance

How do I access audio description at a performance?
When booking, let Box Office know that you would like to use audio description. On arrival, speak to a member of our Audience Experience team who will help you connect to the service or provide an Auri receiver.
