Unfortunately, we have encountered a major fault with our lift at the Playhouse, which will remain out of service while we obtain and install new parts; we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please see below for information on how this may affect your visit.
How will this affect your visit?
Where you may have usually opted for lift access, the following alternatives are available via stairs:
– To access the circle entrance, circle bar and circle bar toilets from the foyer, there are 32 steps.
– To access the gallery entrance, gallery bar and gallery toilets from the foyer, there are 64 steps.
– To access the stalls bar and stalls bar toilets from the foyer, there are 18 steps.
You can access the stalls entrance and kiosk (where you can purchase drinks and snacks to be enjoyed inside the auditorium) directly from the foyer without any steps. There is also a single accessible toilet on this level.
Once inside the auditorium, all seats in the circle and gallery require taking some steps. In the stalls, a single step is needed to access seats on rows J-M. Seats on rows A-H are level access and can be reached without any steps. Our designated spaces for people who use wheelchairs are located in the stalls, with level access and no requirement for use of lifts.
If you rely on lift access, please contact us on 0151 709 4776 and select option 1 to speak to a member of our team who will be able to help.
