The YEP Writers Showcase is back for 2025 and we are looking for actors to perform the exciting new work of our emerging writers.

What is it?

The YEP Writers Showcase is the first opportunity for this year’s YEP Writers to have their work performed professionally at the Everyman. Over the space of 1 week, 2 professional directors and 4 professional actors will rehearse 7 monologues or duologues, written by our YEP Writers, ready to be performed at the end of the week to a public audience.

What do I need to have to apply?

You will need to be a confident actor who is ready to jump right into the varying worlds our YEP writers have created. You should be good at learning lines and picking  direction up quickly. You’ll be comfortable working at a fast pace and working across multiple scripts at once. You should be a team player and a supportive ensemble member, as well as a strong solo performer.

You must be:

● Over 18 years old.

● Based in Merseyside.

● Comfortable picking up a script and learning lines quickly.

● Able to work across multiple scripts at once.

● Able to play multiple roles with a breadth of lived experience.

What roles are on offer?
All performers will be required to multirole across a number of pieces. However, some of the monologues/duologues require performers who identify with a specific characteristic or lived experience. We are looking for:
  • Two transfeminine actors, any age (we are looking for one older and one younger actor for one of the pieces, but we are flexible on ages), any ethnicity.
  • One female actor from the LGBTQIA+ community, playing age 20s, any ethnicity.
  • One male actor, playing age 30s, any ethnicity.
In line with our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, we welcome applications from actors from the Global Majority, and/or who identify as deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent.

All roles are paid at Equity minimum.

When is it?

You must be available for the entirety of w.c. 13 Oct 2025 to be considered for a role. Over the course of 1 week, there will be 4 days of rehearsals followed by 1 day of tech and 2 performance days on the 17 and 18 Oct 2025.

What do I need to do?

To apply, please send us a link to a self-tape no longer than 2 minutes. This could be a YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox link (or similar, please do not send us video files) and should be something that you feel shows off your range. This can be a recording you already have from a previous audition, or you can record something new!

Please include the following information in your email:

● Your name.

● Where you are based.

● A headshot or recent photograph.

● An acting CV or Spotlight link, if you have one.

● Agent details, if you have one.

Please email your information and self-tape link to YEPProducers@everymanplayhouse.com by midnight on Sun 14 Sep. Applicants will be shortlisted and contacted the following week to be invited to auditions which will be held on 25 and 26 Sep at the Everyman Theatre.

We look forward to hearing from you!
