Meeting Points - Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres

The Everyman has always existed to nurture vibrant emerging voices and daring new work – and that isn’t just limited to our own stage.

As part of our work to support Liverpool’s wider theatre ecology, we host regular events to build resilient and fruitful creative networks, develop knowledge and skills, and share resources.

During previews for every in-house production, we run a Freelancers’ Mixer with free drinks and a discounted ticket to see the show.

We also run Production Process workshops, where Everyman & Playhouse staff share their expertise, and offer Creative Check-ins most weeks with our New Works Associate.

Freelancers’ Mixer

If you’re a freelance theatre artist of any kind, come and connect with fellow creatives living and working in the city, as well as members of our Artistic team.

Our Mixers are free to attend, and offer a range of talks, discussions and networking opportunities.

They’re held during previews for our in-house productions at the Everyman, and often include members of the creative team – as well as offering free drinks and a discounted ticket to see the show afterwards.

We also know that events like this can be overstimulating or stressful, so offer a quiet space in the Writers’ Room before and during each Mixer.

Creative Check-ins

We want to make sure that artists have a simple pathway to meet with Everyman & Playhouse staff, so our New Works Associate is regularly available for short online check-ins.

These meetings can be a way to:

introduce yourself and your work

ask for specific advice

find out more about our artist development opportunities (if the information you’re looking for isn’t on the website), approach to programming, etc.

Slots are 30mins, most Thursday lunchtimes (where schedule allows). You can book around 3 months in advance, so do check back later if there’s no availability.

Production Process

We run free workshops for local creatives to look at all elements of a production process with Everyman & Playhouse staff.

Workshops are planned to drawing on our in-house expertise, and responding to requests from our community of freelance artists.

Any upcoming workshops are listed on our What’s On page (use the filter to highlight workshops), where you can sign up to attend.

Places are capped at 20 on a first-come, first-served basis. If you sign up and find you can no longer attend, please let us know in advance.
