As well as co-producing High Times and Dirty Monsters with Graeae too, we supported a tour of North West schools and community centres with LOOPS, which explored police racism and white allyship.

Homotopia Festival is the UK’s longest running LGBTQIA arts and culture festival, with the aim to support and platform local, national, and international LGBTQIA socially engaged artists and creatives.

For the last two years, the Everyman has staged the winning play from the Homotopia Writers’ Awards. In 2023 A Billion Times I Love You by Patrick Maguire and Tell Me How It Ends by Tasha Dowd in 2024. Both writers were also graduates of our YEP Writers programme.

Cardboard Citizens creates theatre, art and training with and for people who experience homelessness, inequity, or poverty, interrogating and challenging the injustices most alive in our world.

In Autumn 2024 Chris Sonnex (Artistic Director at Cardboard Citizens) directed The Lieutenant of Inishmore as part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations for the Everyman. Alongside the production two young people, without significant prior work experience and with experience of homelessness, poverty, and inequity, were given Citz Futures Traineeships, gaining hands-on experience of working in theatre alongside industry professionals to develop practical skills, knowledge, and networks.

Graeae is an acclaimed and award-winning theatre company, existing to cultivate and champion the best in Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent talent in the UK and international stages.

Together with another Associate Company, 20 Stories High, we collaborated on High Times and Dirty Monsters. Giving a voice to young disabled people, the production featured integrated BSL interpretation, integrated audio description and creative captioning. After opening at the Everyman, the show toured the UK in Autumn 2023.

We’re currently working with New Earth on a co-commission with writer Jude Christian.

Talawa Theatre Company champion Black Excellence in theatre and nurturing talent in emerging and established artists of African or Caribbean heritage and diasporas.

We’ve been collaborating with Talawa on their Black Joy season. This included a co-production of the musical Play On! Which was at the Playhouse in October 2024. To support the development of new work by Black writers in Merseyside, two writers of African or Caribbean heritage have received a seed commission to develop a new play, showcase work and build networks with the creative community in Liverpool.
