Create, play and perform

If you’re aged 18-25 with an interest in creating theatre and performing, this group meet weekly on Thursdays from 7.30pm-9.30pm.

Sessions are guided by our team of professional artists to give you the opportunity to develop as a performer. You will explore techniques and creative processes that can contribute to a future career in the arts.

This activity is free and no previous experience is needed!

When do applications open?

What will I be doing?

YEP Actors 18-25 will include the following:
•    Performance skills and techniques.
•    The process of theatre making.
•    Preparing as an actor.
•    Working collaboratively.
•    Developing confidence, resilience and social skills.
•    Increasing aspiration.
•    Opportunity to perform.
•    Theatre masterclasses.
•    Mentoring.
•    Exploring creative opportunities.
•    Going on trips and seeing theatre.
•    Meeting other young people and networking to build your own community and connections.
•    Engagement with the creative process of at least one professional production.

The group size is up to 20 people.

You should be:

•    Aged 18-25.
•    Living in Liverpool City Region (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Wirral)
•    Creative.
•    Imaginative.
•    Open to ideas.
•    Expressive.
•    Willing to learn, play and make mistakes.

You could be:

•    Interested in a career in the creative industry.
•    Disengaged from education.
•    Limited by opportunities in the arts.
•    On an Education, Health and Care plan.
•    A young carer.
•    A care leaver.
•    D/deaf, disabled or neurodivergent.
•    Global Majority.
•    LGBTQIA+.
•    In a job that is not creative.
•    Studying or graduated and need some support to progress.

You would like to:

•    Meet new friends.
•    Be creative in a new space.
•    Work on performance skills as an actor.
•    Take part in a play/devised show.
•    Have somewhere to be safe and not judged.
•    Build a network of creative people like you.

Who runs YEP Actors 18-25?

Our outstanding team of freelancers are professional theatre makers and experienced in making work with young people. You will work with a variety of practitioners and you will work with a professional director on your final performance.

Our Young People’s Advocate will provide support throughout and can give guidance on submitting your application, setting personal goals and deciding on your next steps at the end of your programme. There will also be support from our Young People & Community Producer, as well as other creatives in our building.

What dates do I need to know?

The deadline for applications is Sun 2 November 2025.

YEP Actors 18-25 is Thu 15 Jan 2026 until Sat 4 Jul 2026.

YEP induction Sat 24 Jan 2026, 2-6pm.

Weekly sessions on Thursdays, 7.30-9.30pm from 15 Jan 2026 – you should be able to attend every week unless there is a reason that you can’t.

Intensive rehearsals 30 Mar-2 Apr 2026 and 27-30 May 2026.
Technical rehearsals 23 Jun-1 Jul 2026.
Performances 2-4 Jul 2026.

How do I sign up?

If you are aged 18-25 and live in the Liverpool City Region apply here. Recruitment opens 9 Oct 2025. Contact us on YEP@everymanplayhouse.com if you would like to apply in a different format.

What happens next?

You will need to complete a short application form and then you will be invited to an informal workshop where we will be meeting you to find out about your skills and experience.

Meetings and workshops with successful applicants will take place over 4 weeks from 10 Nov and there will be a several times for you to choose from.
